Kino headed to her room and locked the door. She sighed and leaned against it. ‘God…I know Hayami is going to get back at me for this…’ She looked around her room. ‘I better hide everything important to me…but what’s the point? Hayami usually finds everything. How? I have no idea.’
The redhead went over to her desk and pulled a book from her small “library” and began reading. ‘I should just relax. Hayami isn’t that mean…hopefully…’
.~*~.
Hayami rested his feet on the cafeteria table. ‘Hmm…what can I do to get back at Kino?? Damn it, I can’t seem to think properly right now…maybe some food will help.’
Hayami got up and walked over to the counter and found an apple. ‘Well, it’s better than nothing.’ He grabbed it and bit into it, not even bothering to clean it. He sat back down and sighed.
“Damn, this place is so boring. I should’ve stayed up on the surface. At least there was air up there!” exclaimed Hayami.
“Who are you talking to?”
Hayami jumped up and looked at the person who had just spoken. “Ah, Mimi, well I was just talking to myself.”
Mimi rolled her eyes. “You’re strange one, Tetsu.”
Hayami glared at her. “Yeah, I get that a lot from people nowadays.”
The blond pilot looked at Hayami. “Why are you here anyway?”
“Can’t a guy find one moment of piece alone?”
Mimi grinned. “Okay, okay. I get your point. You want me to leave. Oh yeah, the captain said we’re going to the surface.”
Hayami’s eyes widened. “We are?”
Mimi nodded. “He said there’s nothing left for us to do down here. We might as well go back.”
Hayami frowned. “So Blue 6 is retiring, eh?”
Mimi shrugged. “I’m glad we’re going back. Now that the war is over, I don’t understand why we have to stay down here. It’s not like the creatures are going to wage another war on us.”
Hayami looked at her. “You never know,” he said grimly.
Mimi arched an eyebrow. “Must you be so negative??”
Hayami shrugged. “That’s me, now leave me alone. I need to think.”
Mimi stifled a giggle. “You?? Think?? Wow, I think I will leave.”

After an hour, Hayami finally left the cafeteria. All the excitement of going up to the surface ruined his concentration and he found himself pacing up and down the hall.
It just so happen that Kino had left her room and bumped right into Hayami.
“Uh, hi Hayami!!” she exclaimed nervously.
Hayami looked at her. “Hi.”
Kino nodded her head slowly and started edging away from him. “Yeah…funny seeing you here…”
“We live in a sub. You see me everyday.”
Kino laughed nervously. “Oh yeah! My mistake! So uh…see you around then!”
Hayami started walking away. “Whatever.”
Kino let out a loud sigh and looked at Hayami from behind. ‘Strange…’
~*~*~*~*~*~
“Are you packing up for the trip up?”
Hayami looked at his doorway. There stood Kasaki Mimi.
“Oh, it’s you. No, I’m not packing. I don’t really have that much stuff anyway.”
Mimi smiled. “You seem cranky.”
Hayami glared at her. “Hm, what gave you that idea?”
Mimi shrugged. “I don’t know; you were acting strangely ever since lunch.”
“If you must know, I’m plotting my revenge for Kino.”
Mimi blinked. “Revenge?? Why in the world would you want to get revenge on Kino??” she asked, confused.
Hayami sighed. “Kino played a trick on me and now I have to get her back. It’s as simple as that.”
Mimi nodded slowly. “Ahh…I see. So you’ve been racking your brain all day to think of something, huh??”
“Pretty much.”
Mimi chuckled. “You men are so weird. I’m pretty sure Kino didn’t do anything that bad.”
Hayami stopped shrugged. “It wasn’t that bad…but I’m a guy. I have to get revenge on her, and plus, it’s my nature.”
Mimi raised an eyebrow. “I used to think you liked Kino.”
Hayami blinked an looked at Mimi menacingly. “Say that again, and tomorrow you’re hair won’t be blond.”
Mimi backed away. “Um, right! See you on the surface then!!”
~*~*~Next Day*~*~*
Hayami stepped out of the sub and onto the platform. He looked up at the sky, which was clear blue and free of clouds. He breathed in the fresh air and smiled to himself. ‘Sure is nice to be out of that cooped up sub.’
Ever since the incident with Zorndyke, the people that had survived the war had made an effort to build some new cities. So far, they hadn’t done too bad of a job.
Kino crept up behind Hayami.
“Nice to be out, huh?”
Hayami blinked in surprise and turned around. “Oh, it’s you,” he said dully.
Kino nodded slowly. “Yeah…”
Hayami turned back to face the ocean. “Well it’s better than the sub.”
Kino nodded again, not sure of what to say. “Yeah well…at least they got some cities up. It’s beginning to look like the way it was before the war.”
Hayami nodded. “They still got a lot of work to do, though.”
Kino smiled. “At least we won’t have to be walking on flooded streets now. I wonder how they got all the water out…”
Hayami shrugged. “Who cares? I just want to leave this place. I’ve spent nearly all my life in the water. I wouldn’t mind being back on land now…or at least something like it.”
Kino grinned. “Yeah, it’s nice to be breathing fresh air, although I’m going miss the sub.”
“Yup.”
Kino looked at Hayami. “What do you plan on doing?”
“Maybe meet up with some friends, if they still remember me. You?”
“Don’t know, never got around to figuring out what to do once we got up here,” Kino said, chuckling.
Hayami looked at Kino firmly. “You do know that I’m still angry at you, right?”
Kino turned white. “Oh…?” she asked faintly.
Hayami nodded. “Yup, and eventually I will figure out some way to get back at you. Until then, have fun Kino.”
He turned and left the platform.
Kino shook her head and rubbed her temples. “This is just too much for me…”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
After a day of being of shopping with Mimi, Kino retired to the inn she was staying at.
While she was unpacking her clothes, who else but Mimi decided to pay a visit.
“Ah, Kino you’re unpacking now??”
Kino sighed. She was getting weary of Mimi. “Yes, Mimi. Is there something you want?”
Mimi smiled. “Okay, I know I’ve been annoying you the entire day, but I have one last request of you.”
Kino arched an eyebrow suspiciously. “Okay…what is it?”
Mimi smiled widely. “Come to the club with me.”
Kino rolled her eyes. “Oh God!”
“Please??? Everyone from Blue 6 is going to be there!!” Mimi pleaded.
Kino sat down on her bed. “I probably would consider it if you hadn’t made me shop with you the entire day. Now I’m utterly exhausted.”
Mimi frowned. “Damn…well you can take a nap!!”
Kino shook her head. “Mimi, I’m not a club person.”
Mimi grinned. “Well then we’ll have to do something about that won’t we?” she said, her eyes glimmering.
Kino frowned. “Please don’t say that. It scares me.”
“Please, please, please!! I won’t leave until you say yes!!!” Mimi exclaimed.
Kino blanched. “Oh God…”
“Okay, if you come to the club tonight, I won’t bother you for a week!!” she bargained.
Kino raised an eyebrow. ‘A week without Mimi bothering me?? Hmm…’
“Fine.”
Mimi jumped up in excitement.
“So when do we go? I want to get this over with.”
Mimi grinned. “First, we have to dress you up.”
Kino frowned. “Dress me up??” she repeated. “But it’s just a club. I can wear my normal clothes can’t I…?”
“Oh goodness, no!!” Mimi exclaimed, dragging Kino out of the room. “C’mon, I’ll lend you some clothes.”
Kino groaned. “Why do I have a bad feeling about this?”
Mimi just laughed.

Okie dokie, that’s it for now. Sorry for taking such a long time to write up this chap. I was just too lazy and I started writing a lot of other stories and kind of forgot about this one…- -;; Anyway, I know this chapter was extremely boring, you don’t have to tell me. But remember, it’s the “calm” be fore the storm!! The next chapter will be more interesting! It’ll be the club scene, and if anyone has any suggestions on what Hayami should do to get his revenge on Kino, tell me!! Cause I have no idea what he should do, and I’ll give the person credit for the idea if I use it. Thanks!!
